Problem: the Feeeeeeeeeed
At the time, BeReal was focused on staying in the moment and seeing what your friends are up to as well. After posting your photo of the day, your feed was very quickly filled with photos from all of your friends. While some prefer to use BeReal with a very limited number of friends — say four or five — a user with more friends is quickly drowning in a neverending feed of today’s pictures.
It’s hard to rediscover photos that you’ve seen or photos that you’ve reacted to or left a comment on from earlier in the day.
Sketching and Iterating: Finding a Broader View
I wanted to find a way to break out of the single feed view and help the user find a specific friend's post easier. The single feed isn't an efficient way to organize all your friends.
List View - Could the user pinch to make your feed a smaller, more scannable list of all your friends? Posts would be condensed into a small preview and the person's username?
Grid View - Would list view be more scannable if the single column were expanded to two?
Search View - Should the user be able to search through the day's posts by their friends' usernames? Can we even trust the user to know their friends' usernames?
